About Us

Loving God and embracing His word. Loving People and engaging our world

Immanuel has been in the heart of Independence for more than 75 years.  We are a neighborhood church that takes seriously our mission to make Jesus known as we make disciples and make our community noticeably better.  We seek to be planted firmly in the fidelity of scripture and immersed in our community.  While we are not a young church, we are committed to a new path of revitalizing our church for God's glory and our joy.

What do we believe?

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and practice, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Matthew 5:18, John 16:12

What is our core value?

We seek to bring glory to God in all things. In other words: to make much of God to the world. We preach, teach, serve, evangelize and disciple all for His glory and our joy.
